Must-see

Not only sea

Fuerteventura is not only beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters.

On this page we leave you with a small list of the villages and places we think you should see to savour the true essence of Fuerteventura.

Corralejo

Corralejo is the hub of life in North Fuerteventura.

Once a fishing village, it is now a lively tourist centre, full of bars, restaurants and shops.

The seaside promenade runs for about 2 km from the centre, passing by the marina and ending with a beautiful view of the islands of Lobos and Lanzarote.

El Cotillo

About 20 km from Corralejo you will find the small fishing village of El Cotillo.

Stroll through its narrow alleys, relax in a bar with a viewand enjoy one of the many beautiful sunsets.
Don't forget a visit to theTostón Lighthouse, the interior is still under renovation, but the view from there is worth a visit.

Lajares and volcano Hondo in Fuerteventura

Los Lajares

Lajares is a small village halfway between Corralejo and El Cotillo, a little white pearl nestled between volcanoes and surrounded by 'malpaís', the typical remnants of ancient volcanic flows.
In recent years, life has literally exploded: you will find lots of surf-related activities, incredible little shops of local artists and craftsmen, bars and small restaurants that are really worth a relaxing break.
On Saturdays, the small central square hosts a beautiful craft market... let's go shopping!
church square La Oliva Fuerteventura

La Oliva

This very small town has nothing of particular note and unfortunately some of the most interesting historical buildings are closed and there is no news of their reopening.

The church Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, however, is worth a short visit and a few souvenir photos.
Along the way you will find some beautiful mills waiting to be photographed.
Fountain in betancuria - fuerteventura old capital

Betancuria

If you want to immerse yourself in the history of Fuerteventura you absolutely cannot miss

a visit to Betancuria.

First settlement foundedby colonists in 1405,capital of Fuerteventurauntil 1834 and has beendeclared a historical site since 1979.
Visit the churches and the old convent and fully immerse yourself in the local traditions.

Morro Jable

Morro Jable, in the extreme south of the island, is sharply divided between the past and the future. Strolling through the narrow streets of the old town centre, one still breathes in the tranquillity typical of seaside villages, while the main avenue with its beautiful gardens and palm trees is decidedly future-oriented, dotted with bars, restaurants, shops and nightclubs.

Worth the walk is the view from the panoramic viewpoint which looks like a painting . From there you can descend the steps and take a long 3km walk along the sea to reach the lighthouse .
